Course Description: Presents a set of topics related to building the mind of the child and comparing it to the following stages, describing aspects of growth, the mental process and its related influencing factors, the view of some philosophies and theories and their clarifications, and how to refer to the most important laws in Piaget's theory and the related references to employ them in Educational programmes
Intended learning outcomes
The student is expected to be able to: • Explain aspects of the child's mental development.
• Interpretation of the relationship between the different aspects of growth. • Deduce the meaning of thinking as a mental process.
• Comparing aspects of thinking. • Employing Guilford's theory of mental formation. • Explaining changes in the child's thinking.
• Multiple characteristics of the development of thinking in the child
Teaching and learning methods
Using the deductive lecture - discussion - cooperative education in groups to raise issues of growth and its connection to the child's thinking steps and ways to benefit from it in activating learning methods
Methods of assessments
First midterm exam 20 marks, second midterm exam 20 marks, final exam 60 marks
