Overview
In this course, the student will be able to know and use the latest modern scientific techniques in the field of radiology, ultrasound, CT scan, and MRI of pets and horses. Students also learn the basic principles of diagnostic imaging including radiation safety measures and different types of veterinary diagnostic imaging modalities. The student also studies the clinical applications of diagnostic imaging techniques and how these techniques are used to diagnose various types of bone and soft tissue injuries.
Intended learning outcomes
• By the completion this course, the students should;
- Know types of imaging
- Know what is meant by x-rays
- Know various types of x-ray machine and ultrasonography
- Know the principles of positioning
- Know principles of interpretation of radiographs and ultrasound images
- Be able to identify bone and soft tissue pathology using radiography and ultrasonography
