2. Learn about the basic principles of infection control and describe how pathogenic organisms spread in healthcare settings to know the control procedures.

3. Understand the most common practices and precautions for infection control in healthcare facilities and recognize benefits to patients and health-care workers of adhering to these practices.

4. Recognize that hand washing is the main point helps to prevent and control the spread of infections.

5. Describe the circumstances which require the use of barriers and infection control practices and provide the students an appropriate knowledge to enable them to effectively use the personal protective equipment in order to protect themselves and others from the transmission of infections.

6. Know the importance, methods, types, and steps of Cleaning, Disinfection, and Sterilization.

7. Learn about how to deal with patients, patient's surrounding, and patient's care equipment to prevent the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms to others.
