Overview

Discuss the common pathological disorders in gastrointestinal system and their resultant effects on the human body ب.1 Discuss the pathogenesis and manifestations of inflammatory or neoplastic hepatic diseases. ب.2 Discuss the different benign and malignant lesions in female genital system and breast pathology. ب.3 Discuss the common pathological changes that affect the hematopoietic system. ب.4 Discuss the various illnesses and its complications in the bone and musculoskeletal system. ب.5 Discuss different pathological lesions of the central nervous system.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Understand the pathological basis of systemic diseases including the gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, female reproductive, hematolymphoid, musculoskeletal, and central nervous systems.
  • Understand the etiology, pathogenesis, and resulting biological changes that occur in the disease processes.
  • Describe the gross, microscopic features within tissues as well as the major common pathological processes and patterns of disease.
  • Understand the steps of writing a pathological report.
  • Promote lifelong competencies necessary for continuous professional development.
