Overview

This course deals with one of the levels of translation, namely “theoretical and practical”, through which the student studies the concept and history of translation science, its relationship to other sciences and terminology for this level, its function, the general theories of translation and how to use it. After completing the theoretical part of the course, the student moves on to The stage of practical application is translating terms, translating simple sentences, translating some short pieces.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the 14th week, the student should be able to:
  • Understand the science and history of translation in general
  • Understand translation theories.
  • Knowledge of translation standards.
  • Know how to translate.
  • Translate simple sentences.
