Overview

This course deals with one of the levels of translation, which is “contemporary and practical,” through which the student studies how to classify modern translation types and different types of texts, how to determine the goal of translation, know the target audience, add terminology, and how to use it. After completing the theoretical part of the course, the student moves to the practical application stage by translating simple texts and translating some different short articles.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the 14th week, the student should be able to:
  • Understand modern translation
  • Understand how to add and reduce terms.
  • Know the target audience to reach the best translation.
  • Know and identify similar texts and terms.
  • Translate various articles.
