Overview

This course is designed to assist students to be familiarized with current research methods in translation. It provides an opportunity for students to establish their understanding of research through critical exploration of research language, ethics, and approaches. It orients students with the methodology of writing up research, the procedures of writing a proposal, an outline, quoting authors, paraphrasing, and punctuations. Topics include the layout of a research report, hypothesis statement, sampling, data gathering and analysis.

Understanding the types and techniques of research methods.

Understanding the importance of research ethic and integrate it into the research process.

Ability to evaluate and critique an article published in the journal and use primary research methods in this field.

Conducts a research study in the field of translation studies.
