The University President discusses with Maaitiq the Suspended Projects

The Member of the Presidential Council, Mr. Ahmed Maaitiq, announced that the Al-Wefaq government will provide funds to complete the suspended projects at the University of Tripoli, especially those reaching 95% of completion.  This came during the meeting held on Wednesday morning, at the meeting hall of Tripoli University, under the chairmanship of the university  president Prof. Dr. Nabil Al-Natah, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Education Ministry  Dr. Adel Jumaa, the head of the Board for Developing the Administrative Centers, Mr. Youssef Bashir, the Audit Bureau Undersecretary, Mr. Alaa Al-Musallati, and a number of experts from the Ministry of Education HQ.

Mr.  Maaitiq confirmed that the presidential council will issue a resolution that calls for completing the projects, for which a large part of the 2018 budget will  be allocated, under Item 3 funds.  This decision will come in conjunction with the return of the companies to resume their work. The President of the University stressed the importance of completing the projects, according to the priorities, especially those reaching more than 95%  of completion.

A visual presentation was also presented, providing detailed explanation for the 49 projects in  A-B campuses outlining their percentage of completion.

For his part, the head of the Board for Developing the  Administrative Centers, Mr. Youssef Bachir, said that the Board  has been followed by all the previous governments with which the Board held several meetings to update the profile of completing the University suspended projects, but these attempts reached certain point and then stopped.

He praised the desire of the Presidential Council to complete such projects and confirmed the Board’s readiness for work  without interruption in the event of agreeing to overcome all the obstacles that hinder the work of the Board, provided that fund are available for the  companies.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to form a committee composed of representatives of the Presidential Council, Tripoli University, the Audit Bureau and the Board for Developing Administrative Centers, to identify  the priorities for completing 6 of the projects based on allocating funds for them. The Presidential Council shall be provided with a weeklr report covering the developments on the subject prior  to  the end of this year.
