The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tripoli celebrates the International Day of Medical Engineering, under the slogan “Medical Engineering in Libya: Significance and Reality”. The event took place at the Faculty of Engineering and was attended by the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Corporation, Dr. Wagdy Al-Ratimi, the Secretary-General of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Moneim Abu Al-Qulaha, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Falah, the Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, Prof. Faten Bin Rajab, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Oral Surgery, Prof. Muhammad Al-Imam. Representatives of the University Affairs Administration, the Biotechnology Research Center, and civil society organizations, including the Libyan Society for Genetic Engineering, and other academics and researchers have also been present.

The event has been enriched by a number of presentations tackling the subject of medical engineering and its role in scientific research and community service. Other presentations were also shown discussing the functions of hospitals.  The National Oil Corporation presented the Reality of Oil and the Future of Medical Engineering. The event ended up with a panel discussion and general recommendations on implementing medical engineering in health and medical centers.
