Overview

Familiarize the student with the upbringing, importance, functions, characteristics and philosophy of children's literature and its development in Arabic and international. Enable the student to distinguish between adult and young literature and satisfy the needs of children. Enable the student to determine the criteria for the development of creativity in the child and provide the student with information about the media and awareness of children's literature

Intended learning outcomes

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

At the end of the course, the student must be able to:

1- Distinguish between adult and children's literature and satisfy children's needs

2- Compare the main forms of children's literature

3- Analyze and evaluate the origin, importance, functions, characteristics and philosophy of children's literature and its development in the Arab world and globally

4- Employ the main forms of children's literature to develop the knowledge and skills of Riyadh children

5- Design a presentation of some models and educational applications through puppet theater

6- Write reports and scientific articles on the topics of the course

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the student through lectures, panel discussions, or assignments and exercises, discussion and dialogue

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course(class work 40% & final 60%)

Class work: is divided into written midterm, assignments and tasks
