Overview

This course is a theoretical basis for the Teaching Applications and Practical Education course. It covers the concept of mathematics curriculum: It includes the study of the elements of the curriculum: content: text content, its characteristics and types, snail content, content problems. Teaching methods: definition of teaching method, types of teaching methods, characteristics of teaching methods. Evaluation: text of measurement, evaluation, types of tests, characteristics of each. Problem-solving method in mathematics and its applications in the mathematics curriculum for the intermediate stage. Studying some examples of the applications of the objectives and content of the methods taught on topics from the mathematical courses taught in the intermediate stages. Subjects presented as practical activities at the intermediate level, sports associations, their activity and contribution to the educational process.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

1.Identify basic information about the educational objectives and components of the mathematical content (concepts, generalizations, skills and algorithms, problem solving, thinking skills).

2.Explain the basic educational concepts, principles and theorems about appropriate teaching strategies for teaching mathematics.

3.Enumerates the methods and types of measurement and evaluation in teaching mathematics.

4. Clarify pedagogical concepts and theories in mathematics teaching.

5.Distinguish the most important difficulties in teaching and learning mathematics and ways to deal with them.

6. Analyze basic information about pedagogical objectives and components of mathematical content (concepts, generalizations, skills and algorithms, problem solving, thinking skills).

7. Interpret basic educational concepts, principles and theorems about appropriate teaching strategies for teaching mathematics.

8. Discuss methods and types of measurement and evaluation in mathematics teaching.

9. Criticize and evaluate pedagogical concepts and theories in the teaching of mathematics.

10. Deduce the most important difficulties in teaching and learning mathematics and ways to deal with them.

11.Distinguish and give examples of good and not so good educational goals.

12. Use several different strategies to teach mathematics.

13. Apply a variety of methods of measurement and evaluation in mathematics.

14.Apply his/her knowledge of educational concepts and theories in mathematics teaching.

15. Give solutions to the problems of learning difficulties and teaching mathematics at the secondary level.
