Overview

  • in this course:
  • Discuss the basic surgical anatomy and embryology of the female pelvis, physiology of menstruation and pregnancy.
  • Interpret patient's data in an organized and informative manner to differentiate between normal and abnormal pregnancy including their antenatal care.
  • Discuss normal and abnormal labor and its management
  • Analyze common emergency in obstetrics and their management.
  • Discuss common gynecological problems and formulate its management.
  • Give examples of different benign and malignant gynecological conditions.
  • Discover how to make important gynecology procedures in different situations.
  • Give examples of different situations used in counseling and communication

Intended learning outcomes

  • By the end of the course, the student will be able:
  • Acquire the student with knowledge about the basic sciences of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Expose the student to different problems and diseases of the pregnant woman.
  • Enable students to differentiate between normal and abnormal labor.
  • Provide the students with basic knowledge about the serious gynecological problems and diseases
  • Apply an appropriate knowledge and skills about important gynecological procedures.
  • Introduce the students with basic knowledge of counseling and communication skill
