Overview
An advanced, specialized and compulsory course for master’s students
interested in studying vegetables. It contains a number of subjects: the basics
of seed production and knowledge of some terms used in seed production,
agricultural processes for seed production, seed harvesting, extraction and
circulation, methods of selecting and approving seeds, and finally: methods of
producing seeds of some crops Vegetables: peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant,
cucumbers, onions, carrots.
Intended learning outcomes
Successful completion
of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Explain the
differences between the seeds of vegetable crops
2. It proposes the
steps involved in the production of seeds of various vegetable crops that are
traded locally
3. Distinguish between
the characteristics of good seeds and methods of verification based on genetic
concepts to improve seed production programs, seed maturity stages and
harvesting methods.
4. Explain the
relationship of environmental conditions affecting plants with regard to seed
production
5. Distinguish between methods of dealing with seeds and methods of
storing them
