The course (Principles of Statistics) and its code (IE 108) is taught to first-year students of the Department of Islamic Economics, two hours per week. This course aims to provide basic information to the student about the emergence of statistics and its relationship to other sciences, the steps of statistical research, data collection methods and types, then methods of classification and presentation of data Graphically, then methods for calculating some of the most important statistical measures, properties and defects of each of them, then methods for determining the type of degree of simple linear correlation, and the method of putting this relationship in the form of a first-order regression equation, then an introduction to probability theory.The value that accrues to the student from studying the course is due to: The student should know the origins of statistics and its relationship with other sciences.To know the steps of statistical research and data collection methods.To understand the methods of calculating some of the most important statistical measures.
