Overview

The Poultry Management Course outlines the basic elements of poultry management and the advantages and concepts of each. It shows the types of poultry sheds and the characteristics and equipment of each. It also explains in detail the requirements for incubation, care and production periods for meat chicken, eggs, and breeding. It also enables the student to know the records of the management of breeding operations and genetic improvement of breeding herds and enables him to distinguish between the symptoms of the most important diseases affecting poultry herds in barns.

Intended learning outcomes

Bypass successfully this course, the student should be able to:

a. Knowledge and understanding:

  • Recognize the elements of poultry shed management and the advantages of the importance of each element of this management.
  • Recognize the different types of poultry sheds, the equipment for each, and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
  • Remember the requirements for periods of administration of meat and egg chicken sheds and breeding.
  • Show the different types of genetic improvement records in breeding herd barns.
  • Describe the symptoms of the most important diseases affecting poultry herds in barns.

  • Link the elements of poultry shed management and their respective roles in poultry production.
  • Compare the different types of poultry sheds used in poultry production.
  • Discuss the requirements for hangar management periods according to meat chicken, eggs, or breeding.
  • Suggest types of genetic improvement records in breeding herd barns.
  • Compare the symptoms of the most important diseases affecting poultry herds in barns.

c. Scientific and professional skills:

  • Manage poultry sheds according to each of their elements.
  • Suggest designs of different poultry sheds and equipment for each.
  • Implement the requirements for periods of management of meat chicken sheds, eggs, or breeding.
  • Design the different types of genetic improvement records in breeding herd barns.
  • Diagnose the symptoms of the most important diseases that affect poultry herds in barns.
