Overview

This course is offered to the student ..........................................

● Know the types of corrosion and electrochemical and mechanical processes that occur in the corrosion process

● . Calculation of corrosion rates and identification of marine corrosion and marine environment hazards .

● Knowledge of the most important corrosion control techniques and how to choose treated materials, cathodic and anodic protection and case study

Intended learning outcomes

The student acquires the ability to identify the types of corrosion and to know the electrochemical and mechanical processes that occur in the corrosion process.

The student acquires the skill of calculating corrosion rates and is able to understand the mechanics of marine corrosion and identify marine environmental hazards

The student should have the ability to use techniques to control corrosion and can choose the treated materials and cathodic and anodic protection

The student acquires the skill of diagnosing the condition, i.e. determining the type of corrosion and how to control it using the necessary materials The student can also determine the necessary technology to use it and write a full and comprehensive report on the state of marine corrosion and its risks to the environment and a case study with a visual presentation through which the student acquires the skill of doing research and the art of diction

Teaching and learning methods

lectures with presentations.

Methods of assessments

The evaluation strategy of the student in this course consists of four elements: (distribution of the subject professor)

● Partial exam (written), out of 40 marks

● Assignment in groups (mini-research presentation, report...............) , from 5 degrees

● Panel discussions, case studies in groups (5 case studies), from 5 degrees

● Final exam (written), out of 50 marks.
