Overview

The student studies during this semester; Introduction and definition of nematodes, different groups of nematodes, study of the external form and internal structure of nematodes, methods of reproduction and feeding, life cycle of nematodes, environmental factors affecting the activity of nematodes, Taxonomy of nematodes, compound disease, Nematode control.

Intended learning outcomes

1. The student recognizes the different groups of nematodes.

2. Distinguish between the genera of plant pathogenic nematodes and identify their composition and environmental factors affecting their activity.

3. Recognize the different methods of collecting and extracting nematodes.

4. The student will identify the environmental factors affecting the life of nematodes.

5. Learn how to make microscopic preparations of nematodes.

Teaching and learning methods

This program is presented in the form of lectures, practical lessons and field visits.

Methods of assessments

The student is assessed in this course by means of written and oral exams and preparing reports on laboratory experiments.
