Overview

A specialized course that teaches 3 hours per week. It includes an introduction to agricultural economics and its branches, and an identification of economic and agricultural activity and its main objectives. In addition to explaining applications of the theory of demand and supply, and studying some branches of agricultural economics represented in studying the theories of production possibilities, agricultural production economics, agricultural development, agricultural resources, agricultural cooperation, and agricultural marketing.

Intended learning outcomes

Enabling students to distinguish between the multiple concepts of agricultural economics and its branches, as well as know the impact of economic changes on agricultural commodities, and review the various types of agricultural activity and the best ways to develop them. Also, work on explaining any economic phenomenon that may affect the economic efficiency when using agricultural resources. Thus, the student can determine the type of policies and the most appropriate solutions that benefit decision-makers in this field

- In addition to solving some applied problems in order to calculate and interpret some economic variables

Methods of assessments

A first theoretical midterm exam is conducted after the fifth week of study, and a second theoretical midterm exam after the tenth week of study, and the percentage of each of them is 25%. As for the final exam, it is a theoretical exam and it is taken after the twelfth week of study and represents 50% of the final assessment
