Overview

This course is designed to provide students the fundamental concepts of critical care nursing, equipment used in the area and assessment procedures done by critical care nurses.

It also focus on Nurses’ responsibilities to make the patient’s welfare their first consideration during the surgical experience.

Emphasis given to pre-operative care, intraoperative and post-operative obligations in patient’s acquiring knowledge, skills and attitudes in taking care of patient in surgery.

Rehabilitation Nursing provides help to individuals affected by chronic diseases or physical disabilities to adapt to their disabilities, achieve greatest potential and work toward productive and independent lives.

COURSE OBECTIVES:

1. Describe standards of care and performance for critical care nursing

2. Identify correct trends in critical care nursing

3. Define General Surgery Practice Nursing

4. Review phases of Peri Operative Nursing

5. Identify pre-operative, intra operative and post-operative responsibilities of Surgery Nurse

6. Define Rehabilitative Nursing

7. Discuss the principles according to WHO international classification of functioning disability and health

8. Identify different Rehabilitation setting, requirements of client’s discharge, diagnoses qualified for rehabilitation.
