Overview

The study of the course aims to provide the student with the ability to know basic concepts about financial indicators, the credit rating industry, and what investment funds are, and to teach the student the importance of analyzing international credit rating indicators, studying the types, operations, and foundations of managing investment funds, as well as introducing the student to how international credit rating indicators are calculated and how to evaluate investment funds.

Intended learning outcomes

A. Knowledge and understanding:

  • Introducing students to basic concepts about financial indicators and the credit rating industry, and studying international credit rating indicators.
  • Introducing students to basic concepts about investment funds.
  • To make the student understand the operations and foundations of managing investment funds. Study the types of investment funds.
  • Introducing students to methods and methods of evaluating investment funds.

B. Mental skills:

  • The student develops the ability to test and analyze the concepts of financial indicators and the credit rating industry, and to study credit rating indicators and how to use and rely on them in evaluating vital institutions.
  • That the student compares the types of investment funds in terms of their components and structure and the purpose of investment and the student understands the investment policies of investment funds and the most important factors influencing investment decision-making for them.
  • That the student analyzes how to evaluate investment funds and measure the performance of those funds.
  • The student develops the ability to analyze the activity of Islamic investment funds, understand their privacy, compare them with traditional funds, and study their performance.

C. Scientific and professional skills:

  • The student should identify the most important credit rating indicators and how to calculate Standard & Poor's, Fitch and Moody's indices to serve investors.
  • That the student understands the investment policies of investment funds.
  • That the student diagnoses and uses the different methods for evaluating investment funds through evaluation according to the return on invested funds model or complex methods such as Sharpe, Trenor and M2 models.
  • That the student uses the tools and mechanisms of applying the operations of Islamic investment funds.

D. General skills:

  • Encouraging dialogue and discussion.
  • Developing the student's ability to use the computer in various applications.
  • Developing the student's problem-solving skills and enabling him to keep up to date with what is new in this subject.
  • Connecting the student with relevant institutions.
