Overview

This course examines the student's familiarity with the concept, importance, stages, elements and means of communication and their role in the educational process, the concept of the educational method, its types and classifications, the foundations of its preparation, advantages and disadvantages, methods of selection, production and use while taking advantage of the possibilities of the local environment.

Intended learning outcomes

  • Explain the following concepts (communication process, sender, receiver, message, communication channel, feedback, higher communication, self-communication, personal communication, mass communication, group communication, comics, educational games, representation of situations, free representation, puppet theater, teaching aids, educational technology, systems orientation, system, inputs, processes, outputs, monitoring and control, open systems, closed systems).
  • Describes the types of teaching aids and explains their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Explains the role of the teacher and the learner in the design, production and use of teaching aids.
  • Deduces the relationship between educational technology and the systems approach and shows its relationship to education.
  • Distinguish between the classifications of means of communication and show their importance in the learning and teaching processes.
  • Suggests teaching aids according to different modes of education (visual - auditory - sensory).
