Introducing some
general definitions in the course, then learn about the classification of
clothing in terms of composition, making clothes, and in terms of type, then
learning about colour and its importance in making clothes, and studying
neutral and complementary colors, colour contrast, and colour groups
The second part of the course deals with the study of types of
clothing for all age groups, work clothes for women and men, the importance of
the uniform and its advantages, rationalization of consumption in clothing, the
method of arranging the wardrobe and identifying smart fabric, its beginnings,
the purpose for which it was found, and its most important applications
Intended learning outcomes
By the end of this course, the student will
be able to understand and comprehend the educational concepts of clothing,
taking into account the surrounding society. This includes knowledge and
know-how of colour consistency and colour contrast, and he will become familiar
with the basic rules for choosing clothing at work, whether for men or women.
By the end of the course, the student will be able to understand the concept of
rationalizing consumption in clothing. Familiarity with smart textiles and its
developments, especially in the medical field

First midterm exam 15%, second midterm exam
15%, 10% commitment to attend no less than 75% of the total lectures, 10%
abstract delivered at the end of the course on one of the course topics and of
the student’s choice
