Overview

Introducing the concept of economic development, and the importance of development in economic policies, in addition to introducing students to the objectives and requirements of economic development. In addition to the definition of the term economic growth. And also study the indicators through which the development process can be measured and evaluated.

Intended learning outcomes

a. Knowledge and understanding :To familiarize the student with economic development. To familiarize the student with the theories of economic development. To familiarize the student with the indicators of measuring economic development. Understanding and familiarity with the concept of economic underdevelopment and development and its indicators. See and learn about human development indicators and measures on the Libyan economy.

B- Mental skills: Economic indicators of development can be measured and calculated. The student analyzes these indicators through percentages. That the student compare these percentages in different years. Conclusion of the performance of the development plan. That the student be able to link the theoretical aspect with the application.

C- Scientific and professional skills: The ability to deal with the internal and external business environment. The ability to make strategic decisions. The ability to diagnose planning problems for economic projects. Diagnosis, access to information and knowing its source. Analytical, critical, predictive and interpretive skills.

D- General Skills: Drawing up development plans and drawing up economic policies.

The ability to work within a team to develop development plans. Solving planning process problems. The ability to apply acquired concepts and skills.

Teaching and learning methods

1. Attending the lectures required for the course.

2. Preparation for the course topics from the prescribed references.

3. Asking students questions and participating in answering them.

4. Participatory education by distributing students into groups and asking them to do certain tasks.
