Respond to and effectively manage minor illnesses and treat them using over-the-counter medications
Using the knowledge and skills acquired in this course to embody the pharmacist's role in the patient's self-care.
Knowing the tests and diagnostic devices that the patient can perform and/or use in the pharmacy and/or at home.
Intended learning outcomes
Upon
completion of this course, the student will be
Familiar with simple and minor cases related to the different forms of
pain and fever, upper respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, skin, ear, and
eye.
familiar with the devices, home diagnostic
tests, and services provided in the community pharmacy such as assistance in
smoking cessation and self-medication in pregnancy.
