Overview

The main objective of teaching this course is to provide students with sufficient knowledge to choose the appropriate test method and techniques for preparing and extracting the active substance from chemical and biological samples, and applying the instrumental techniques that they studied in the course of instrumental analysis to determine concentrations of active ingredient in pharmaceutical preparations for different dosage forms, using analytical techniques that mentioned in pharmaceutical texts and pharmacopeias.The student also learns theoretically how to chemically analyze of some cosmetics, as well as chemically analyze of some agricultural pesticides residue.

Intended learning outcomes

After studying the course, the students will be able to recognize the sources of pharmaceutical analysis methods, as well as the best method, to choose for drug analysis, and the student will learn how to prepare, separate, purify the sample, and obtain and evaluate the results.Student getting acquainted with the different instruments used in analysis so that he can perform the quantitative and / or qualitative analysis of drug and their accompanying impurities, metabolites, and decomposition products, as well as in the analysis of some cosmetics and agricultural pesticides.
