Overview

This course is considered an introduction to translation in general, as the student first learns about the importance of translation, its role in transferring knowledge, and the role of Arabs in that. The student learns about the types of translation and the difference between written and oral translation. The student also learns how to search in the dictionary and benefit from it. This course is concerned with Arabization (translation from French to Arabic), where the progression takes place from the word, then to the sentence, then to the text, and through it one learns the most important differences in sentence structures between French and Arabic. The course also aims to enrich the student’s words and make him aware of the different meanings of words according to the context.
