Overview

This course is a continuation of what the students had in listening and speaking 1 in the first semester. In this course, expressions that show polite manners are presented and practiced in different contexts that contribute to building the students' communicative competence and building the English accent by determining the stress in the syllable in the word and stressing the word in the sentence with rising or falling intonation. This requires students to be already familiarized with the concept of a syllable so that they can divide the word into different syllables and pronounce it as per the tradition of the language.

Intended learning outcomes

Students will acquire knowledge and skills after their success in this course, represented in the ability to listen well, develop their vocabulary and expressions in different subjects, and use them appropriately in life situations. Students will also be able to describe daily activities, diagnose problems and suggest solutions for them, offer invitations, accept or refuse them, express their hobbies and interests, the things they like and the things they dislike, ask about the price, number and amount of things and describing them, and express plans for the future.
