Overview

This course further develops the reading skills and vocabulary competency learnt in the previous course. It approaches a variety of reading materials intended for learning to read with greater comprehension speed. Students should be taught how to interpret, analyze and evaluate ideas in texts.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:-

1- Use reading strategies to understand the text.

2- Explain new words meaning from the context.

3- Build up and develop new language systems.

4- Explain the literal and idiomatic meaning of the new words.

5- Analyze the relationship between grammatical sentence structure and its meaning.

Teaching and learning methods

To teach this subject the teacher needs to use lectures and during these lectures students will e exposed to many different writings from many different fields, in addition by using the computer and the data show device.

Methods of assessments

Evaluation this subject will be assessed by conducting midterm exam, lecture activities, presentation, and final exam.
