This course is designed to introduce students
to different types of paragraphs, like comparison and contrast and cause and
effect. It trains students in the stages of writing a paragraph (like
pre-writing stage, writing stage, reviewing and editing stage, and noticing the
interrelations between these stages) while concentrating on paragraph unity in
form and content.
Intended learning outcomes
By the end of this
course, students should be able to:
differentiate between the various types of paragraphs,
like comparison and contrast and cause and effect.
practice the stages of writing a paragraph (like
pre-writing stage, writing stage, reviewing and editing stage,
notice the interrelations between these stages) while
concentrating on paragraph unity in form and content.
write on subjects that concentrate on "how"
things are performed; and
write short paragraphs
using the comparison, the contrast, and the cause and effect text
structures.
