In this course students are introduced to another main
sub-field of linguistics which is morphology. Discussions of syntax and
semantics are also given to appreciate their position in the study of
linguistics.
Intended learning outcomes
The course aims to:
1. introduce students to other important
theoretical concepts and empirical findings of modern linguistics such as
phonetics, phonology and morphology.
2.
emphasize the connections between linguistic concepts learned in this course
and the many other academic disciplines that are concerned with the study of
language.
