Overview

This course aims to study the following topics:

- Significant figures and calculations - units of measurement.

- Definition and division of the substance.

- The laws of fixed and multiplied ratios.

- Atomic structure -periodic table.

- Electronic distribution.

- Change in properties on the periodic table.

- Chemical symbols and formulas.

- Balancing chemical equations.

- Chemical calculations.

- Chemical bonds.

- Lewis symbols and structures.

- Geometric shapes of molecules.

Intended learning outcomes

1. Enumerates the basic units of measurement and distinguishes the conversion methods between the units derived from them.

2. Recognize the division of matter and the laws of fixed and multiplied ratios of compounds.

3. Distinguish the chemical symbols and formulas of common compounds.

4. Explains the atomic structure and periodic table.

5. Compare the four quantum numbers and describe the electronic configuration.

6. Recognize the method of weighing chemical equations and perform calculations based on them.

7. The student mentions the types of chemical bonds and compares the geometric shapes of molecules.

8. The exact number of significant figures is deduced by scientific and exponential notations.

9. Analyzes the laws of fixed and multiplied ratios of compounds.

10. Associates chemical formulas with their chromosomal weight.

11. Detects the relationship between atomic structure and the periodic table.

12. Analyzes the four quantum numbers to arrive at the atomic structure of the element.

13. Deduces calculations based on chemical equations.

14. Explains the ways in which elements relate to each other and the geometric shapes they take.

15. Rounds the numbers calculated by the computer to the exact number of significant figures.

16. It proposes a way to separate compounds from each other.

17. Diagnoses the elements involved in the composition of any compound.

18. Stores the locations of elements in the periodic table.

19. Characterizes the chemical behavior of elements.

20. Designs chemical reactions to obtain other compounds.

21. The geometric shape of any chemical compound is proposed.

22. Empower trust and learn to participate in a team.

23. Ability to manage time.

24. Develop the capabilities of using computers and the Internet to search for topics related to the course.

25. Ability to self-learn.

26. Ability to learn continuously.
