This course is one of the compulsory subjects in sociology department and to study this course, there are previous requirements :
- Education Assets - GC 116 and Rural sociology- SE 123 .
This course interests in Familiarizing the students with social development and its components, social development exemplars ( integral exemplar / adaptive exemplar ) and backwardness theory and some concepts,
Developmental, improving, changing and progress.
sociology of development & backwardness, directions for ideological development ( liberation/ capitalism / Marxism and the third world) , the relation between economic development & human development in terms of sociology development and some successful developmental exemplars according to the perspective of contrastive sociology, utilizing positive sociological for the successful exemplars and the updating theory & backwardness.
The student is highly familiarized with civil society organizations & human development.
Intended learning outcomes
- The student will be able to distinguish between the following concepts:
1- Development & updating.
2- progress & backwardness.
3- growing & change .
4- knowing the progress factors & progress obstacles. and the factors of determining countries , dealing with the concept of civil society organizations and its objectives with human development.
Teaching and learning methods
The course is tougt using theoretical part , utilizing whiteboard mixed with sharing discussion with the students.
Methods of assessments
1- mid-term activities, 40% divided into:
30 % as a written exam .
10% for discussion and scientific research papers.
