Overview

• Teaching the student the concepts of forensic science and forensic biology and its applications.

• Teaching the student the concept of the crime scene and the legal and ethical rules regulating this science, and defining the scientific methods and techniques used to detect evidence at the crime scene.

• Teaching the student the different types of forensic evidence and the relationship of this science to different sciences.

• Familiarize the student with the legal and forensic implications of evidence and the limitations of interpreting data when used as evidence for testimony in the courtroom.

The student describes the basic principles and concepts of forensic sciences

The student describes the concept of the crime scene and the legal and ethical rules related to it, and the student describes the techniques used in locating evidence at the crime scene.

The student describes and explains the different types of forensic evidence, and recognizes the relationship of forensic sciences to different sciences.

The student describes the most important concepts of the legal system.

To familiarize the student with the basic principles of genetics, serology and other biological sciences and their role in forensic investigations.

The student be able to design a vision to reveal evidence at the crime scene, and determine the appropriate methods and techniques for analyzing forensic evidence, and be able to use modern techniques to detect biological traces and use them as forensic evidence in cases of crimes related to humans and the environment.

The student should distinguish the types of forensic evidence and be able to document forensic data and preserve all forensic evidence.

The student should be able to use biological evidence in the interpretation of data that will be used as evidence for testimony in the courtroom.

The student should use the various biological sciences related to criminal sciences in forensic investigations.

Teaching and learning methods

· Case study / laboratory activities / collecting information on samples and biological evidence that are examined in forensic biology and submitting a report

· A panel discussion for each student to present their results.
