Overview

This course is to build students' English grammar skills in order to prepare them for academic study in the English language; It will build students' confidence in expressing themselves in English without making unacceptable grammatical errors. Therefore, this course provides an advanced level of English grammar for use in writing and speaking.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student must be able to:

1- Use new grammatical structures in correct meaningful sentences.

2- Form correct meaningful sentences using phrasal verbs;

3- Use infinitives and gerund in correct and meaningful way.

4- Use the direct and reported speech in statements and interrogatives;

5- Form correct indirect imperatives.

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the student through lectures, panel discussions, or assignments and exercises, discussion and dialogue

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course:

(class work 40% & final 60%)

Class work is divided into written midterm, assignments and tasks.

Final exam is in a form of written exam.
