Overview

This course develops reading skills and vocabulary which students have learned in the previous course. It also addresses a variety of reading materials for the purpose of learning to read at a high speed level. Students study how to interpret, analyse and evaluate ideas in texts.

Intended learning outcomes

This course aims to:

1. Learn how to read, understand and comprehend in English.

2. Learn, understand and benefit from various texts.

3. Explain how to link words and sentences on the one hand, and photos on the other

4. Discuss and read the distinction between words and identical sentences which are without images.

5. Reads properly the words and sentences from the texts.

6. Explain the connotations of the words and sentences which he or she reads

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the student through lectures, panel discussions, or assignments and exercises, discussion and dialogue

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course:

(class work 40% & final 60%)

Class work is divided into written midterm, assignments and tasks.

Final exam is in a form of written exam.
