Overview

This course introduces students to high-interest reading texts from trusted sources that serve as a starting point for reading comprehension activities, reading comprehension development, vocabulary building, analysis, grammar training, enriched discussion, and writing.

Intended learning outcomes

This course aims to:

1. The student will become acquainted with the reading skill, comprehension and assimilation in the English language.

2. The student is acquainted with the various texts, understanding and benefiting from provided texts.

3. The student explains how to link words and sentences on the one hand, and pictures on the other hand

4. The student discusses distinguishing between similar words and sentences without pictures, and reading them

5. The student reads words and sentences from the texts correctly

6 .The student interprets the meanings of the words and sentences read

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the student through lectures, panel discussions, or assignments and exercises, discussion and dialogue

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course:

(class work 40% & final 60%)

Class work is divided into written midterm, assignments and tasks.

Final exam is in a form of written exam.
