Overview

This course aims to introduce students to the basics of essay writing, beginning with defining an essay, how to prepare it, and what the different types of essay are.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student must be able to:

1 . Use( Brainstorming) before writing to collect ideas related to the selected topic.

2 .Knows, arranges and organizes ideas (Outlining).

3 .Recognize mistakes, corrects them, and rephrases the text the student wrote in light of that (Editing)

4 Acquires the necessary skills to write an essay using several literary and academic methods.

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the students through lectures divided into brief introductory lectures and other practical ones, followed by the students doing practical work with follow-up, discussion, analysis and evaluation of the students’ writing.

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course:

1- Class work 40%, in which the student is given assignments to work on and finish them in a period not exceeding a month and a half with the midterm exam of the course .

2- The final exam (60%) in which the student takes the final examination of the course so that the total score is 60 Sixty marks
