Overview

This course aims to: study English literature which has many benefits, as it accustoms students to different perspectives on life and diverse ways of thinking about the world. Moreover, it develops students' linguistic competence and introduces various literary poems, plays, short stories and novels.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student must be able to:

1. Identify the history of English literature.

2. Be able to criticize literary works.

3. Read different literary works and apply literary knowledge in their language practice.

4. Develop his skills in knowing different perspectives on life and diverse ways of thinking about the world.

Develop his abilities in analyzing various literary poems, plays, short stories and novels. From English literature.

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the student through lectures, panel discussions, or assignments and exercises, discussion and dialogue

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course:

(class work 40% & final 60%)

Class work is divided into written midterm, assignments and tasks.

Final exam is in a form of written exam.
