Overview

This course develops skills and strategies previously learned in previous reading courses and provides students with highly interesting texts in various fields and helps them acquire good vocabulary through activities related to the meanings of words, syndromes, deriving parts of speech, and others.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. read the text for the purpose of understanding the content, searching for new vocabulary and mastering it verbally and in writing.
  2. search for the main ideas and isolates the causes and effects
  3. clarify the idea, point of view and ideas and understand comparisons
  4. specify the classification and the charts, tables and graphs
  5. describe trends, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages, identify multiple causes, and gathers information
  6. Analyze and evaluate the standards, grades, ethics and values

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the student through lectures, panel discussions, or assignments and exercises, discussion and dialogue

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course:

(class work 40% & final 60%)

Class work is divided into written midterm, assignments and tasks.

Final exam is in a form of written exam.
