Overview

This course aims to introduce students to the basics of language learning using computers, beginning with its definition and historical development, the use of different types of software, different approaches to using computers in the classroom, and the effective use of information technology in e-learning, blended learning, and others.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student must be able to:

1. Create, use, and evaluate technology-based programs, projects, and activities effectively to use them in the classroom.

2. Discuss the importance of using continuous assessment in the computer-enhanced classroom.

3. Integrate technology into the educational environment

Design technology-based programs and activities to use them in classrooms and gain better knowledge in the use of animation, imaging software, web, and publishing software.

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be presented to the student through lectures divided into brief introductory lectures and other practical applications, followed by the students doing the practical application inside the laboratory with follow-up, discussion, analysis and evaluation of the students’ performance.

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course:

1- Class work 40%, in which the students are given tasks to work on and complete in a period not exceeding a month and a half, and the student’s midterm score is 40 forty marks

2- The final exam (60%), in which the students do six other tasks and evaluate each of them with (10%), so that the total is 60 sixty marks
