Overview

The course explains the structural foundations of design (design elements) for building the design, the structural foundations (formal relations), in addition to the aesthetic foundations (design foundations), due to the importance of the artistic, aesthetic and plastic elements and foundations in the formation of the artistic subject.

Description of the practical part (Laboratory projects): Conducting applied studies of the relationships of the technical elements and the structural foundations of each of the overlap of the point with the line and the space with the space in various artistic configurations, in addition to the relationship of colors to the elements of formation, making applied studies of the plastic relationships of design such as composition, juxtaposition, overlap, transparency and color harmonies, _ also _ applied studies of rhythm, balance, unity, proportionality and harmony, and practical applications of the artistic unit and the relationship of the part to the part and the relationship of the part to the whole These applications depend on the student's aesthetic vision and extract their aesthetic values..

Intended learning outcomes

1 The student should identify the concept of design, its foundations and technical elements.

2 The student should distinguish the beauty of good design and its elements through artistic taste

3 The student should demonstrate how to solve simple technical problems.

4 The student should determine the nature of the materials and the methods of using them in the construction of the designed shape.

5 The student should explain symbol and abstraction by analogy and representation between elements.
