Overview

Renaissance art is an art that includes painting, architecture, and sculpture that appeared in Europe around 1400, specifically in Italy, and art was one of the most important advocates of the European Renaissance. Through this course, students learn about several aspects that we include as follows:

- Introducing Renaissance art, modern art and contemporary art.

Study of the most important movements and trends in the art of photography, sculpture, and architecture, beginning with the European Renaissance and its subsequent extensions such as the Activist movement, the artists of Roco, Baroque and the Venetian school.

Study of the influence of the Renaissance on Northern Europe and the new transformations introduced from classicism to Romanticism to modernism.

- Studying contemporary trends in light of the concepts and characteristics of each, its most famous artists and modern trends, and new art such as the new Raphaelites.

Study and review the beginning of modern art in the nineteenth century and the founding pioneers of this art,

- Study of art schools in the modern era such as abstract, impressionist, futuristic, influential, realistic, expressive and surreal, up to the Barbizon community, conceptual art, African art, folk art and Asian art in general.

The role of Arab-Islamic artistic civilization in the art of the European Renaissance.

Study modern and contemporary arts in the Arab world in general and in Libya in particular.

- Study of modern and contemporary Arab Islamic art schools – established and developed – for Egypt, Syria, Iraq in general, and Libya in particular.

Description of practical part (Laboratory projects):

The material does not contain a practical part, but it is possible to carry out some working papers or mini-research.

Intended learning outcomes

1 The student should get acquainted with the most famous artists of Rococo and Baroque and artists of the school of assignment and the school of Venice.

2 The student should list the most famous artists of new art and new artists of the Raphael.

3 To distinguish the student from the pioneers of the Impressionist movement, the realistic movement, and the Barbizon group,

4 The student should explain what conceptual art, futuristic school, abstract and surreal school, and others are

5 The student should compare the development of the aesthetics of the arts through the ages
