Overview

Textile printing is a means of artistic expression that reflects various ideas and artistic visions through which art models and drawings can be obtained in a variety of ways and means. For students to learn about the printing techniques in this course, they are explained by photographs, illustrative models and readings of the principles of typography by linking and templates as one of the methods of choice and implementation.

Practical description (Laboratory projects):

- Preparing fabrics for linking, molding, printing with flooding and dyeing, each method is divided into the classroom.

- Make design preparations and methods of application in molds by carving blocks of different materials selected and sold in color and then pressing the fabric to create a model, design or seal of the design carved on the materials selected.

– Dyeing the fabric to be done using a range of tools _ like helping basins, as well as the submersion mode.

- Making theoretical applied research for different types of printing and then presenting them, in addition to field visits to museums and exhibitions of interest

Intended learning outcomes

1 The student will be familiar with the historical aspect of the art of the Monotype printing and the technical controls in the way it is performed.

2 The student will be able to explain the historical aspect of thermal transport printing and the colors used.

3 The student will be able to explain the historical aspect of the art of hand-molding printing, its advantages and disadvantages, and methods and methods of performance.

4 The student will be able to distinguish the fingerprint printing method, and the methods of performance.
