Overview

Ornamentation is a world of artistic creativity that is not restricted to time and space and is not limited to an aspect of art, and is based on two basic aesthetic rules: The rhythmic change of movement with the impression it leaves of Harmony (harmony), and the vacuum of the surface that must be filled with the foundations and elements of design, and the decorative designs in this decision depends on the technical dimensions: Two-dimensional decoration and three-dimensional decoration. It is characterized by a method of close interconnection with the means of implementation - materials, spatial space and the subject of artistic expression

Description of the practical part (Laboratory Projects): The work of applied studies of multiple and diverse decorative elements based on the theoretical aspect presented through the lecture, some of the topics are heritage elements inspired by heritage, and other applied studies based on designs for plant and engineering decorations to make artistic formations with multiple values.

Intended learning outcomes

1 The student introduces the concept, history and genesis of Islamic architectural design

2 The student should distinguishes Islamic engineering designs to show the aesthetic values of Islamic geometric decorative art.

3 The student should explain how to draw preliminary sketches of Islamic geometric decorative designs
