Overview

The course is a completion of Reading 1 and Writing 1 courses. Students, in this course, will be introduced to some letters that can be omitted in writing but not verbally or can be omitted verbally but not in writing. Additionally, they will study about the rules of conjunction and disjunction in Arabic writing. In addition, they will be able to identify punctuation, different types of writing such as Literary writing, reports, correspondence, biographies, and articles. They will also learn how to identify some common writing mistakes and how to fix or correct them.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. identify the most common spelling and linguistic mistakes.

2. identify the rules of letters that are added or omitted and the rules of conjunction and disjunction.

3. Write reports and applications.

4. write correctly using punctuation marks and read properly.

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be given through lectures, panel discussions, or assignments and exercises.

Methods of assessments

Methods of evaluating students in this course: (semester work 40% and final 60%)

¾ Semester work: it is divided into written midterm exams and assignments.

¾ Final: written final exam.
