Overview

This course attempts to acquaint the students with the different parts of a research paper.It also provides information about each part, and how it should be written. It provides real examples to be considered by the students as a practical part of the course.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of this course, students should:

· have learned the main parts and elements of a research paper.

· been able to write an abstract.

· been able to restrict their topics, choose the appropriate methods,

been able to document references and cite electronic references.

Teaching and learning methods

The interactive teaching method is used as the instructor is deliberately encouraging the students to interact by posing a number of questions before and during explaining the lesson.

The students are also engaged in analyzing some abstracts by dividing them into small groups, or improving some parts of researches by considering them critically and improving, if possible.

Methods of assessments

Total of 100 Grades should be divided as follows:

· 40% Midterm Exam

· 20% Assignment (Writing a proposal)

· 40% Final Exam
