Overview

This course includes an introduction to the psychology of play and its importance, objectives, and educational functions. It also explains the types of play and how to use play as a method of psychotherapy, and the interpretation of its theories.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Learn about the concept of play, its importance and objectives by presenting different points of view.

2. Enumerate multiple gameplay functions.

3. Compare types and features of play.

4. Explain psychological treatment in terms of (diagnosis, non-directed treatment, determinants of the therapeutic relationship, features and characteristics of the psychotherapist).

5. Explain the concept of educational games and their relationship to the development of creativity and factors that help develop creativity in children.

6. Determine types of psychodrama and creative drama and relationships to other variables.

7. Distinguish between creativity, intelligence and types of creativity.

8. Explain the concept of play, its importance and objectives by presenting different points of view.

9. Analyze multiple gameplay functions.

10. Link types of play with features.

11. Discover information about psychotherapy in terms of diagnosis, non-directed treatment, determinants of the therapeutic relationship, features and characteristics of the psychotherapist

12. Infer the concept of educational games and their relationship to the development of creativity; factors that help develop creativity in children.

13. Compare types of psychodrama and creative drama and their relationship to other variables.

14. Employ knowledge on concepts of play, importance and objectives in dealing with people with special needs.

15. Apply multiple gameplay functions.

16. Design types of games in light of features and characteristics of gameplay

17. Use play as psychotherapy for some cases of special needs groups

18. Use educational games to develop creativity, the spirit of participation, and integration for people with special needs

19. Employ and evaluate knowledge of the differences between types of psychodrama and creative drama

20. Design games that develop the thinking and brings out intelligence and creativity of talented and creative people

21. Discuss the relationship between intelligence and creativity

22. Be able to work in groups to carry out research and r design of joint educational game

23. Use various resources to compile information on course topics through practical performance and the use of modern technology

24. Be self- and continuous learners

25. Communicate effectively orally and in writing
