Overview

This course introduces music, its elements, significance and role in developing aspects personality in terms of mental, physical, social, and psychological aspects of the average in a child and in children with special needs, in addition to realizing the role of music as a means of treatment for some cases.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Get acquainted with one of the international musicians through the study of the first movement.

2. Explain the musical scales through studying the first tune.

3. Remember simple musical melodies suitable for different situations.

4. Sing simple melodies accompanying children's musical games.

5. Describe the significance of playing simple melodies accompanying different children's stories.

6. Interpret simple melodies accompanying children's musical games.

7. Link studying the piano course with musical sciences.

8. Distinguish between a number of musical tracks and exercises on the piano.

9. Propose playing different musical chants suitable for children

10. Analyse the performance of musical improvisations, distinguishing between them and improving students' musical performance.

11. Perform music pieces to improve technical skills.

12. Use one of the world's open musical compositions.

13. Design and master the performance of musical melodies.

14. Distinguish between melodies through conscious listening to musical works.

15. Gain fluency in playing simple melodies accompanying children's musical games.

16. Develop cooperative learning skills through joint kinetic stories and musical games.

17. Perform chants and teach them to others.

18. Use modern technology in presenting lesson topics.

19. Participate positively and confidently, and contribute valuable ideas in developing classwork.

20. Acquire the skills of organizing and managing classroom learning and the skill of self- and continuous development through study groups.

Teaching and learning methods

· Lecture; dialogue and discussion

· Case studies and discussion panels; presentation of cases with pictures and video; how they apply to students; method of diagnosis and music therapy

Group work; report writing; summarizing musical studies
