Overview

This course addresses the concept of behaviour modification as a way to change human behaviour. It looks into the techniques, skills, and methods used in behaviour modification, while providing the opportunity for practical training on such methods.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Recognize behaviour and the target behaviour, and the methods of behaviour measurement as well as the factors influencing behaviour

2. Explain the most important theories addressing human behaviour

3. Defines methods for evaluating challenging behaviour

4. Distinguish normal and abnormal behaviour using the behaviour modification card

5. Explain with examples the techniques of behaviour modification

6. Associate concepts of normal behaviour and abnormal behaviour and the factors affecting the latter

7. Explain behavioural theories in behaviour modification

8. Classify the concepts used in behaviour modification (teaching new habits)

9. Discover the skills of reinforcement in behaviour modification

10. Deduce the techniques used in behaviour modification from the theories explaining the behaviour

11. Prepare a note card for behaviour modification, taking into account the factors affecting behaviour

12. Use reinforcement plan to modify behaviour according to the results of behavioural theories

13. Design a behaviour modification plan

14. Write a report on how to implement a behaviour modification plan using behaviour modification techniques

15. Apply behaviour modification techniques from theories on behaviour

16. Conduct self and continuous learning

17. Communicate effectively orally and in writing
