Overview

This course identifies the basic concepts of behavioural disorders, and explains their causes, classifications, and characteristics. It also addresses the methods for diagnosing and evaluating behavioural disorders, as well as teaching programmes and methods, curricula, and educational settings appropriate for people with behavioural disorder.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Recognize the causes leading to behavioural disorders.

2. Explain the most important forms of behavioural disorders.

3. Distinguish the similarities and differences between behavioural approach and the behavioural intervention.

4. Explain the most important procedures applicable to in diagnosing behavioural disorder.

5. Identify the most important methods of educational and therapeutic intervention for behaviourally disturbed children.

6. Compare the theoretical trends in explaining behavioural disorders.

8. Analyse the most important forms of behavioural disorders.
